Ballerina-turned-cabinetmaker supports women in trades with BCIT bursary 

After acheiving her childhood dream of becoming a professional dancer, Brandy Kawulka says she began thinking in more practical terms about her future. She found her perfect match in an unexpected field. Now, the self-titled Boss Lady is giving back. She recently established a generous annual bursary for women in joinery and carpentry programs at BCIT. Read more.

BCIT alumna and Red Seal Machinist Chelsea Barron helps her students succeed

Like her grandmother before her, Chelsea is forging her own path. A member of the Tsilhqot’in (Chilcotin) Nation, the alumna is a Red Seal Machinist and one of few women working in a male-dominated trade. Ingredients
2.0 oz gin
1.0 oz lime
0.75 oz elderflower syrup
1 spring of rosemary
garnish:rosemary

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 10 - 15 seconds until chilled and diluted. Double strain into a couple glass. Garnish with rosemary.
