April 2022 Guild Meeting Reminder on Zoom

Meeting Date: Monday, April 18th, 2022
Doors Open: 6:30PM for mixing
Meeting: 7:00PM - 9:00PM

The guest lecture for the VancouverMQG's April meeting is Laura Hartrich she will be presenting "Quilt Documentation through Sketchbooks and Labels"

Do you need to step up your documentation game?

Does labeling your quilts seem utterly tedious when all you want to do is keep sewing?

Laura Hartrich is on a mission to convince quilters that documenting their work is worth the effort, and that the process can enrich any quilter’s creative practice! She will outline the various methods she uses to document her own work (think notebooks and labels), sharing tons of inspiration images and sketchbook sneak-peeks. Attendees will walk away with simple, attainable ideas for recording the details of their work, along with motivation to make it happen even when they’d rather be sewing.

Laura Hartrich is a quilter whose brightly colored work centers around themes of reflection, acceptance, time, and memory. She lives just outside Chicago in Oak Park, Illinois with her husband and two teenagers, and is currently in grad school studying occupational therapy. She is passionate about quilt stories and documentation and hopes to spark some of that passion in you today.
