This Week...

Join us in the world’s largest earthquake drill, check out Nanaimo's family fishing challenge and sign up for Voyent Alert! Read on for more...

Drop, Cover and Hold On!

An earthquake could happen at any time, in fact, there are thousands of minor earthquakes in BC every year. Are you ready for the big one? You may only have seconds to react before strong shaking knocks you down and things around you begin to fall.

Practice makes perfect, or in this case, practice creates instinct! On October 17 at 10:17 am, drop, cover and hold. Listen for the drill on our local radio stations, 102.3 FM The Wave or 106.9 FM The Wolf. During the drill, the City will also begin sending out a test of our emergency alert system, Voyent Alert! If you haven’t already, make sure to sign up.
