Congratulations to IRES's May 2023 Graduates! IRES is proud to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of our graduates! 
 

Ilke Geladi, whose research explores questions related to the conservation of landbirds in the agricultural zone of Santa Cruz island in the Galapagos archipelago, won the Department of Zoology's Teaching Assistant Award.

, Annie Lalande was one of the recipients of the Sustainability Hub’s new Sustainability Leadership awards, which recognize outstanding leadership to address climate change, reverse biodiversity loss, shift to circular economies, and create more resilient communities. Read more here.

Postdoc Fellowship | Nature United

Nature United, University of Victoria, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada, aim to develop a framework and applied survey-based tool that can assess the degree to which the current management systems for Canadian fish stocks are adaptive and responsive to climate variability and change. This project seeks to produce outputs to tangibly support climate adaptation in Canadian fisheries.

Call for Proposals for COP-5 Events

COP-5, the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury, has an open call for proposals for online events and Knowledge Lab sessions. COP-5 events are an informal platform to share and advance knowledge in technology, research, and policy to the attention of Parties and to the global community that the Convention serves.
