Monitoring Health Impacts of Climate Change

On April 26, 2018, the BCCDC/ NCCEH Environmental Health Seminar Series will host Dr. Paul Belanger and Dr. Nancy VanStone of KFL&A Public Health to talk about the general needs for a climate change surveillance system to assess health impacts at the local, regional and national levels.  They will share some of their work from Ontario using the Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS) and the Acute Care Enhanced Surveillance (ACES) system.  They will also discuss some of the work they have done with Health Canada towards the development of a national surveillance system.

Environmental Health Surveillance Workshop

In February 2013, the NCCEH held a 2 day workshop to bring together national and international environmental health surveillance practitioners to describe environmental health surveillance in Canada and around the world, identify and share innovative practices and discuss the inauguration of a collaborative national environmental health surveillance network. The results from the workshop are still relevant today and individual presentations can be downloaded at the link below.

Public Health Surveillance of Housing Conditions

At last month’s BCCDC/ NCCEH Environmental Health Seminar , Montreal Public Health detailed the data they have collected on a variety of housing-related issues - molds, bed bugs, cockroaches, upkeep & repair, essential services and affordability. CIPHI Ontario Conference Abstract deadline extended

CIPHI National Conference Abstract deadline is soon 

  • The deadline for abstract submission to the 84th CIPHI Annual Education Conference (AEC) is April 27th.  The conference will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from September 16-19, 2018.

CPHA 2018 Preliminary Program Released

  • The NCCEH will be presenting at this year's CPHA National conference in Montreal (May 28-31). The preliminary program has been released.
