Highlights from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors’ Meeting of April 23, 2020


Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, the TNRD Board of Directors meeting held its regular Board Meeting by calling in to the Cisco Webex conferencing system. The meeting was streamed live on the TNRD’s Facebook page. Listen to the full meeting here.

APC Bylaw No. 2716, 2020

The board was presented with a report on updates with respect to the Advisory Planning Commissions (APC) and a draft bylaw that would restructure the Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s three Advisory Planning Commissions into two. The Board voted to defer consideration of any amendments to a future meeting.

Committee Updates

The TNRD Board recommended that a letter be sent to the Minister of Environment requesting BC Parks appoint a representative to the Thompson-Nicola Invasive Plant Management Committee (TNIPMC). Read the minutes of the TNIPMC March 11 meeting here.

TNRD Invasive Plant Management Control Contracts

The Chair and Corporate Officer were authorized to execute on four contracts with Spectrum Resource Group Inc. for Wildlife Invasive Plant Control. Following a Request for Quotations (RFQ), Spectrum Resource Group Inc. scored the highest for all four-contract areas.

Announcements

Chair Gillis announced the appointment of Deanna Campbell as Corporate Officer, and the promotion of Agnese Saat to the position of Deputy Corporate Officer.

Question Period

The TNRD welcomes questions from the public and works to provide an avenue to those wishing to ask questions to do so at every Board meeting, whether in-person or virtual. No questions were submitted to be addressed at the April 23 meeting.

The next Regular Board Meeting is on May 14, 2020 at 1:15 pm.
