Dr. Derome in Québec’s Laboratoire de recherches médicolégales, 1915
Dr. Derome, who studied legal medicine at the “Université de Paris”, was named Director of our provincial Forensic Laboratory from 1914 until his death in 1931 at age 54. Performing autopsies as a forensic pathologist, he was also a specialist in ballistics & firearms and published visionary books in forensics: Précis de médecine légale (1920) and Expertises en armes à feu (1929). He was clearly a pioneer in the field.
We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful, lively and cosmopolitan city. You will see for yourself: to Europeans, Montréal seems very “american” and to Americans, Montréal seems very “european” …
Montréal, a city of mixtures!
