Announcing Four Exciting Learning Opportunities

This special Patient Voice Mail comes to you chock-full of new learning opportunities. With the Quality Forum just days away, we're pleased to announce that this year its live stream has more sessions than ever – all available on Facebook.

But that's not all. We're also offering three provincial opportunities for PVN patient partners to attend and participate in patient engagement conferences across North America!

Quality Forum 2018 is this week and this year the fun, excitement and learning opportunities are more accessible than ever. Three plenary presentations, a debate, seven breakout presentations and Health Talks will all be streamed live on Facebook!

As in previous years, Quality Forum 2018 has been self-assessed by the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council, which organizes the Forum and supports PVN, as Patients Included. This means that the event meets five clauses that ensure the patient experience will be incorporated. Among its commitments, the Forum partnered with PVN to sponsor the attendance of 20 patient partners, features nine presentations related to patient engagement, and has made eleven events available to those who cannot attend in person.

Take a look at the live stream schedule below:

How to Watch

No registration is required for these events, and it’s easy to watch.

Step 1Like BCPSQC on Facebook

Step 2: Go to the Events tab and click on the events you’d like to watch. RSVP by clicking on the button that says “Going.” This is optional, but it will allow Facebook to remind you when the event is coming up.

Step 3: Open the Event page at the start time for the event. The feed will automatically appear when the broadcast starts. Because these events are happening in real time, don’t be concerned if the stream doesn’t appear immediately; sometimes the event may run a few minutes behind.

For those attending the breakout sessions, a moderator will be watching the Facebook Live stream and relaying your questions to the presenters. You could even win a prize!

There are now more ways to participate in the Forum than ever before, and we’re looking forward to seeing you (in person or online) in just a few days!

Learning Opportunities

The Patient Voices Network strives to advance authentic patient engagement by building the capacity of our health care and patient partners. By sponsoring patient partners to attend patient experience conferences, we aim to build relationships and encourage information sharing that will support meaningful collaborations. We're thrilled to announce three special learning opportunities for patient partners wanting to attend three conferences focused on putting patients at the heart of health care.
