Be FireSmart

Summer came late this year, and the rain has yet to make an appearance. With drought conditions still present, the risk of wildfires remains high. Please make sure you are being FireSmart around your home and when out and about. In addition, safely dispose of cigarettes and remember that smoking is not permitted in City parks or on trails. Thank you!

Watering Restrictions

Warm weather and lack of rain have extended the Provincial Drought Level 4 conditions on Central Vancouver Island. In response, the City of Nanaimo is continuing with Stage 2 watering restrictions until the end of October.
