Each year, from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (World Human Rights Day), Canadians observe 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. In solidarity, this time-space is an opportunity to "call out, speak up, and renew our commitment to end gender-based violence."

The links below include recommended resources to help navigate the 16 Days (and every day) of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

Educator Resources:

  1. The 2021 Global 16 Days Campaign Advocacy Guide: End Femicide Now shares hard truths and hopeful actions for actualizing a world without violence
  2. The Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women and Children, in partnership with the Centre for Prevention Science and local school boards, has created "a number of resources to assist educators in creating safe schools and promoting healthy, non-violent relationships among youth."
  3. In this video, as part of the We Matter Campaign, "Tunchai talks about being Two Spirit, and how Two Spirit people were considered gifted in many communities - then her and Kelvin talk about how important it is to accept ourselves and others for who we are."
