BC Parks 2024 Visitor Satisfaction Survey

BC Parks needs to hear from backcountry visitors to facilitate improvements!

BC Parks wants and needs to hear from backcountry, day-use and marine visitors about their park experience. If members want to see improvements to access, parking at trailheads, backcountry facilities (tent sites, food caches, outhouses, trails, signage and trail infrastructure), backcountry visitors need to take the time to complete the survey .

Through this survey, BC Parks wants to learn more about

  • who is visiting parks,
  • what activities they enjoy while visiting,
  • what they like about parks, and,
  • where there is room for improvement.

The survey data will be used by BC Parks to support future decision-making, training, and funding for facilities, trails, and other initiatives. However, the predominant users who complete the survey are front country visitors .

As of July 3, 2024, BC Parks reported that:

  • 93% of responses have been from frontcountry campers, largely due to the post stay emails sent out to campers with the survey link .
  • Out of over 7300 responses, only 298 have been from backcountry visitors, 131 from day-use visitors, and 48 from marine visitors .

View the analysis of BC Park's 2023 survey results in the latest issue of Cloudburst and how the lack of feedback from backcountry visitors can skew the conclusions drawn from the limited data .

The survey will be open until September 16.
