Transportation Project Updates from the City of Chilliwack
Construction is underway on this connector road. This project will include paving, drainage, water main, street trees, streetlights, curb and sidewalk works.
Spadina Avenue (Ashwell to Corbould)
The road reconstruction on Spadina is nearly complete. Street trees, landscaping, irrigation and street lighting will be completed in November.
Five Corners Intersection Project
Final paving and line marking are complete, and now decorative street lights and new traffic signals are brightening up Five Corners.
Council approved 20 locations for rapid rectangular flashing beacon crosswalks. Installations will include Watson Road at Watson Elementary, Yale Road at Carleton, and more.
Promontory Rd. Widening: Vedder-Chester
Concrete, paving and electrical works are taking place this month along the corridor, as we move towards project completion in December.
2020 Paving Program
Work has begun on the 2020 program. Roads paved so far include Bernard Avenue from Ashwell to Railway, No. 5 Road from Boundary to Stewart, and major patching on Keith Wilson Road.
Hackbrown Road Realignment
The City and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure are working together on the Phase 2 design, which is scheduled for construction in summer 2021.
Vedder Rd. Widening: Keith Wilson-Watson
Phase 1 of this project, including drainage and electrical works, is scheduled to continue through December 2020. Expect travel delays.
