TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Essential Computer Skills for the Workplace (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Upon completing this training, participants will learn Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.This five-day online course is offered by DIVERSEcity’s Skills Training Centre. Learn general office administration and computer skills for the workplace using advanced computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Eligibility: Please check with your case manager/ employment counselor.

YWCA Tech Connect

YWCA Tech Connect is a free 10-week program that supports newcomer* self-identifying women with experience in IT to secure rewarding careers in the tech industry.

Baristas Program

Baristas is a six-week employment program for youth 16-30 years old. The program focuses on helping participants find work in the customer service and food industry. Participants achieve certificates in Foodsafe, Serving It Right, and SuperHost. Program facilitators assist participants with job search so they can meet their employment and career goals.

Accounting & Payroll Certificate Program 

The Accounting and Payroll Administration program will provide a thorough working knowledge of fundamental accounting, bookkeeping and payroll procedures. The program provides the skills necessary to administer payroll and to maintain manual or computerized accounting records. This program is ideal for someone with some office administrative assistant or clerical experience who would like to move to a position in bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll. It is also useful for someone who needs to manage the finances of their own business.

Electrical Foundation Harmonized Program

Looking to start trades training for an apprenticeship or career in the construction industry?

Join this SkilledTradesBC and Private Training Institutions Branch(PTIB) - approved Electrical Foundations training program. There will be 15 weeks of class training; 4 weeks of guaranteed work experience and 1 week of job search support and career coaching. They offer connections to job opportunities post-completion

Self-Erect Tower Crane & Level 1 Rigger Certification
