COMMUNITY NOTICES AND EVENTS

Winter parking restrictions resume December 1

On select streets around Squamish, parking will be restricted to one side of the street only from December 1 through March 1, 2024, to ensure that snow plows and emergency vehicles have access.

District of Squamish Bylaw Enforcement Officers will focus on education and provide warnings to anyone parking in a restricted area. However, vehicles parking on the No Parking side of the street may be ticketed and towed at any time to ensure community safety. The fine for impeding snow removal is $250.

Cram the Cruiser, Fill the Firetruck, Sink the Ship!

It's that time of year again! First responders and the local Walmart in Squamish are preparing for the second annual Cram the Cruiser event in support of the Squamish Community Christmas Care. For the second year in a row, the local Squamish RCMP, Squamish Fire Rescue, and Marine Search and Rescue will be collecting donations of toys, food, gift cards, and/or money to support families in our community.

When: November 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Walmart, 39210 Discovery Way

Last year, the event was a large success with the community coming together, and gifting generous donations to help fill the RCMP Police truck and the vintage Squamish Fire truck!

RECYCLING TIP OF THE WEEK

Plastic bags don’t go in your recycling bin! Plastic bags can get mixed with other recyclables, which can affect the recyclability of the rest of the material. Please keep plastic bags out of your recycling bin by dropping them off at the Recycling Depot on Queens Way or the Squamish Landfill and Recycle Depot for recycling.
