Entering the Next Phase of Our
Patient Partner Compensation Engagement!

Register for a Focus Group, Webinar or Interview

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council is engaging with PVN patient and health care partners about an important topic: patient partner compensation.

We have now completed the first phase of this engagement process, an online survey. Thank you to the 162 health care partners and 365 patient partners who filled out the survey! We will be collating the results and hope to be able to share them with you soon.

The second phase of the engagement is now starting and we need your help! Through focus groups, one-on-one interviews and webinars, this part of the process will allow us to look at questions in the survey more closely. We are grateful for all of the input we have already received, and would welcome our partners to sign up for this second phase if you wish to share with us further.

Learn more about the webinars, focus groups and interviews through our registration form. In the form, you will see which times and locations are still available. Each option has a different capacity, and spots will fill quickly, so make sure you register as soon as possible to secure your spot!

Patient Partner Perspective: Using Data to Drive Meaningful Change in Health Care

PVN patient partners often have the chance to attend workshops offered by the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council. In this blog post, we hear from Jesmina Biserovic, a patient partner and health care professional, about her experience at the Data-Driven Improvement workshop!

Jesmina was relieved to hear that no technical background was necessary for the workshop. In this post, she tells us how she has already used the new data tools she learned in her health care work – she makes Fair Pharmacare information more understandable for patients – and how she applies them as a patient herself!

Read the blog post.

Jesmina Biserovic shares how data-driven improvement tools will change her work.

Island Health Patient Education Videos Created
with Help from PVN

Island Health's series of heart health education videos are now available and we're excited to share that they were produced with input from PVN Patient Partner Dianne Gilmour! This is a new approach to patient education for Island Health and puts information right at patients' fingertips.

Island Health released a set of educational videos with the help of PVN!

The videos were created so that patients can more easily understand how and when to take their medication. The videos, which are available online to be watched when needed, will ensure that consistent instructions are given while freeing up time for medical staff.

Congratulations to everyone involved on the release of this great resource!
