Happy Pride!

The College of Opticians of British Columbia would like to wish all of our 2SLGBTQ+ registrants a very happy month of Pride. We value the diversity in our registrant base and wish you all a very happy Pride month!

We'd also like to share this article with you, published by the College of Pharmacists of BC and shared on the BCHR website, about the duty of all healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective care for all patients, including those who identify as 2SLGBTQ+.

Have you completed your CCP assessment?

If you haven't yet completed your Continuing Competency Assessment, here is a reminder to login to your profile and get started to ensure you stay on track with your learning goals for this cycle.

Once you have completed your assessment, you can take the next step: choosing which areas you want to focus on, creating goals for yourself, and finding activities to achieve them.

If you have any questions about the Continuing Competency Program please contact Christopher Dodge

Reopening survey

With many optical stores starting to re-open, it is important to ensure your employment information is up-to-date.

If your business has experienced a closure or change in service provision during the COVID-19 pandemic, it might be necessary to update your public profile with the most up-to-date information. If you think this might apply to you, please fill out our COVID-19 Re-Opening Survey.

Notice to non-practicing registrants

If you have been registered as non-practicing for a while, or you recently renewed as non-practicing due to COVID-19 workplace restrictions, please be reminded that you must change your status back to practicing before returning to work.

You can do this by logging into your online profile on our website and selecting the change status tab. This is not optional. To return to practice, your criminal record check must be valid and you will be required to pay the difference between your non-practicing fee and the renewal fee for your designation. You can review the full fee schedule here.

We are offering payment plans for registrants who have been affected by loss of earnings due to COVID-19. To find out more, please email Meagan Marsh to submit a payment plan prior to submitting your change of staus request.
