This week’s educator resources, "Exercising Empathy," provide activities and films designed to enhance students' empathy skills for cultivating positive relationships, conflict resolution, and community building through storytelling and diverse perspectives.

Educator Resources:

  1. Provided by School Mental Health Ontario and the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, Healthy Relationship Skills: Empathy includes activities to build empathy skills that help students (primary to intermediate) with conflict resolution and maintaining positive relationships. 

  2. Provided by the National Film Board of Canada, Learning through Empathy includes a selection of films to help elementary students develop empathy and engage in meaningful discussions.

  3. Curated by the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Humans of Your School includes activities for K-12 students to build empathy and community by engaging in structured storytelling activities, exploring diverse perspectives and shared experiences.
