BioForward Wisconsin and BIOQuébec to Formalize International Cooperative Relationship

BioForward Wisconsin, the collective voice of Wisconsin's robust and comprehensive biohealth cluster, and BIOQuébec, Québec's largest network of biotechnologies and life sciences, will sign a memorandum of understanding to advance cooperative relationships and promote life sciences.

The signing will occur during a virtual public event titled, Québec and Wisconsin: Two Thriving Life Science Ecosystems Sharing Strengths and Opportunities,” on March 25, 2021. It will be hosted by Martine Hébert, delegate with the Quebec Government Office in Chicago, whose office introduced the two organizations.

Madagascar Black History Month

Madagascar - the Routes and Stories of Enslaved People

To celebrate Black History Month, the Alliance Française of Milwaukee hosted a conversation on February 27th, 2021, on the history and routes of Malgasy enslavement crisscrossing the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and along the coasts of Africa and the Americas with Québécois-Senegalese hip-hop artist and historian Webster LS and French-Malagasy filmmaker Marie-Clémence Andriamonta.

This event was a collaboration between the Québec Government Office in Chicago, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the Alliance Française of Milwaukee.

CTA and Novabus

CTA's Exciting New Contract with Novabus

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has renewed its confidence in Nova Bus, a company based in St. Eustache, Québec with US operations in Plattsburgh NY, and moved to purchase up to 600 new clean-diesel buses to modernize its fleet for the city of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. 

The sale signals the continuation of a longer-term relationship between Nova Bus and the CTA, with the shared mission of providing reliable, more sustainable, and cost-effective transportation solutions.

Great Lakes Days 2021

A Virtual Celebration for Great Lakes Days 2021

Hosted jointly by the Great Lakes Commission (GLC) and the Northeast-Midwest Institute, this year's Great Lakes Day Congressional Reception was held virtually on March 3rd, 2021. On March 1st, the GLC released its federal priorities for the Great Lakes with an excitement and readiness to work with federal, state and local partners to protect the lakes and promote economic growth. 

This was indeed a wonderful occasion to see our colleagues and we are looking forward to the next Great Lakes Days in 2022!
