Sue Garvey Retiring

After 22 years of dedicated service and a lasting contribution to Cornerstone Housing for Women, Sue Garvey will be joining her husband Larry in retirement in February 2019.

While this decision is met with a heavy heart, we’re sure you will join us in wishing Sue much happiness and fulfillment as she embarks on this exciting next phase of her life. We look forward to celebrating Sue’s years of inspired leadership in the upcoming weeks.

Clergy News & Updates

The Bishop's Office is pleased to announce that:

  • It is Bishop Chapman's intention, God willing, to ordain the Rev. Alana McCord and the Rev. Colin McFarland to the priesthood at Christ Church Cathedral on the Feast of St. Nicholas, Thursday, December 06, 2018 at 7pm. The Master of Ceremonies will be Rev. Canon Hilary Murray assisted by Rev. Gregor Sneddon. Rev. Canon Mary Ellen Berry will preach.
    Clergy are invited to vest; the liturgical colour will be red.
    A reception will follow in Catherdal  Hall; all are welcome. Please keep the ordinands in your prayers.

  • The Bishop, with support of Cahncellor Canon Robin MacKay, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Henry Shultz B.A., M.A., LL.B., as Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Ottawa. Mr. Shultz assumes the position immediately.

  • Rev. Linda Posthuma has received the Bishop's permission to retire from full-time ministry and as Chaplain at Cornerstone Housing for Women; effective December 31, 2018.

Food Cupboard Donations

Stairwell Carollers an a cappella Ottawa choir, formed in 1977 by their director Pierre Massie, a music graduate of the University of Ottawa. The choral group has earned the distinction of being ranked amongst the best of Ottawa choirs by local choral critics. Their repertoire encompasses sacred and secular songs from all eras. In the rush of the hectic Yuletide season, the Carollers bring focus to the true meaning of Christmas, with their beautiful and unique interpretations of traditional Christmas carols in many languages.
