Back into the swing of things

Dear Bedford South Residents,

Wishing all the very best to students, parents, educators, and staff as they return to school.

It is particularly exciting for me this year as my son starts grade 1 and there are two new schools opening in my riding, West Bedford School, and West Bedford High School. Get a peek at what the schools look like here. 

Remember to stay safe and watch out for the kids as we all navigate getting to school and work safely. 

To celebrate the end of the summer, I will be hosting the 2nd annual Bedford South End of Summer Fest. I look forward to getting the chance to connect with everyone this weekend. You can find the full event details in this months newsletter.

Back to School Safety

More than 58,000 students headed back to HRCE schools this week with thousands of these students starting at the new schools in our communities today. 

It is important to remember to have patience when traveling through our communities as everyone adjusts to the increase of traffic and pedestrians along these routes.

Getting back to school is a busy time for everyone, therefore it is important to review some basic but important safety tips that can help things run smoothly and keep students safe when returning to school.

Community Spotlight

End of Summer Fest

Tomorrow from 11 am to 2 pm I am hosting our 2nd annual Bedford South End of Summer Fest free community event.

There will be the Hatfield Farms petting pen, games and some incredibly delicious food from many of our local restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and a bbq hosted by some incredible volunteers.

This was an overwhelming success last year and I very much look forward to seeing many of you again this year. So come on out and bring your family and friends for a fun community get together.
