Each year, the Township of King hosts a Volunteer Appreciation Awards Night to honour and celebrate one of the Township’s most important resources: its volunteers.

The nomination closing date of Monday, March 13 is fast approaching so if you know of a person who makes King a better place through their volunteer work, please complete the nomination form by clicking the 'Submit Your Nomination' button below. The categories are:

• Citizen of the Year
• Special Recognition Award
• Non-Resident
• Senior Citizen Award of Merit
• Lifetime Achievement
• Youth Award of Merit

According to Statistics Canada about 1 in 2 Canadians aged 15 and over donate their time, energy and skills to charities and non-profit organizations. The approximately 2 billion volunteer hours they contribute is equivalent to more than 1 million full-time jobs.

Can you imagine the impact to our economy and society in general if those volunteers stopped tomorrow?
