Annual Facility Closure
Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex

Reminder: PSLC will be closed June 3 to 29. The yearly closure lets us complete essential maintenance that can’t happen while the facility is open, so that we can keep offering a high-quality experience. The pool will be ready to welcome residents back on June 30.

Summer Fire Safety
No Smoking in Local Parks

Help keep our community safe and fire-free. Smoking, including e-cigarettes and cannabis, is not allowed in any City park, and fines increase to $500 June to September due to the heightened fire risk. Visit our webpage for tips and to stay up-to-date on the fire-risk rating.

Help Shape Growth Near Transit-Oriented Areas
Provide Feedback via Info Session, Community Conversation, Survey or Map

Share your input on proposed land use changes in and around Southwest Coquitlam’s Transit-Oriented Areas (TOAs). The proposed changes respond to new provincial rules in Transit-Oriented Areas and guide how homes, parks, transportation networks, and commercial spaces evolve in nearby areas called shoulders (areas next to the Burquitlam and Lougheed Town Centre SkyTrain Station Transit-Oriented Areas), and on Austin and Como Lake Avenues.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
