The NCCHPP will be in Halifax at the Public Health 2024 Conference, April 23-25
Symposium
The NCCHPP will offer a symposium entitled, What Can Public Health Organizations Do to Improve Their Capacity to Act on Healthy Public Policies? on April 25.
Presenters will give an overview of strategies available to public health organizations to enhance their capacity to play a bigger role in the promotion, adoption, and implementation of healthy public policies. Based on the NCCHPP’s analysis of the scientific literature and the experiences of Vancouver Coastal Health and Nova Scotia Public Health, presenters will describe a variety of initiatives established by public health organizations.
Poster Presentation
Our colleague Willy Dunbar will present a poster on Public Health Surveillance Functions in International Jurisdictions, based on a collaborative project with our colleagues from the NCC for Methods and Tools.

Willy Dunbar will also represent the NCCHPP during the session, Addressing the Social Determinants of Nutrition Through Public Health Surveillance: Documenting Food Inequities to Inform Policies. This session will be presented by the Canadian Alliance for Regional Risk Factor Surveillance, on April 23.
