2024 City of Kimberley By-Election

The general voting day for the 2024 By-election is Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at Centennial Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To be elected is one (1) Councillor. The elected Councillor will serve a two (2) year term from November 2024 to October 2026.

Advanced voting will take place at Centennial Hall on Wednesday, September 11th and 18th, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Are you interested in becoming a candidate?

Nomination papers can be picked up in person at City Hall during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.). Packages will also be available by email for candidates who wish to view and print their own documents for completion. Contact the Deputy Chief Election Officer at election@kimberley.ca.

The nomination period opens August 6th and closes August 16th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. During this period, nomination documents will be received by the Chief Election Officer or their designate. Candidates are asked to make an appointment to submit nomination documents. Contact the Deputy Chief Election Officer at 250-427-9658 to book your appointment or email the address above.

The City of Kimberley and Mayor McCormick are excited to announce the launch of a new online initiative, "Ask the Mayor," hosted on the Engage Kimberley platform. This new program is designed to provide residents with direct access to the Mayor, to get answers to their questions about city operations, validate or dispel rumors, and gain insight into Council decision-making.
