1. WELCOME ACTIVITIES

DEPARTMENTAL WELCOM SESSION (MASTER, DESS AND Ph.D)

To find out everything you need to know about your academic career and meet the people in your department, don't miss your welcome session!

Location: rooms to be confirmed, at Polytechnique Montréal.

Those admitted to the double degree - master's integration program must register for the session below.

WELCOME SESSION - DOUBLE DEGREE- MASTER'S DEGREE INTEGRATION
Monday, August 7, 2023 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm

After taking part in this online orientation session, you'll know all the ins and outs of choosing a course during the integration semester, finding a study or research direction, and being admitted to a master's program!

3. HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE
Assurance

Polytechnique's graduate student association, the AECSP, offers a complementary health, vision and dental insurance plan for students in degree programs, in which you are automatically enrolled. Double-degree students will only be able to benefit from this plan as of their first term of enrolment in a master's program.

INSURANCE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students are automatically enrolled in the Health and Hospitalization Insurance Plan for Foreign Students (ASHEE). This insurance is mandatory, unless you qualify for an exemption.

4. IMPROVE YOUR LEVEL OF FRENCH
Français

If you need to improve your level of French, there are courses available to help you!

The ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration du Québec (MIFI) offers free French courses for immigrants living in Québec. Discover the numerous courses offered.

The Université de Montréal's Language School offers credited French courses for all levels. Submit an application for admission, then register to take a compulsory placement test. For more information, consult the procedure to follow on their website. Please note that placement tests are held during the summer and you must register very early!

During the fall and winter semesters, Polytechnique Montreal also offers the course SSH0345 - Pratique du français écrit. It is for you if you already speak French and you wish to significantly develop the quality of your written expression (grammar, syntax, etc.).
