Many people living with viral hepatitis do not know they are infected. Worldwide efforts are focused on eliminating viral hepatitis by increasing awareness, dispelling myths, reducing stigma, and improving access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. In Saskatchewan, eligible residents have access to publicly funded Hepatitis A and B vaccines, and travellers can choose to purchase Hepatitis A and B vaccinations before visiting countries with higher rates of hepatitis. Learn more about vaccine eligibility and access. Screening and testing for hepatitis B and C and other sexually transmitted blood-borne infections (STBBIs) is available through primary care practitioners, walk-in clinics, and Saskatchewan sexual health clinics using the provincial requisition (PROV-326). Hepatitis C treatment is fully covered under the Saskatchewan Drug Plan. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve liver and overall health. People who are cured of hepatitis C can no longer spread the virus to others. Through hepatitis prevention, testing, and treatment initiatives, SHA is supporting healthier communities and improving access to care across Saskatchewan. For more information, refer to the Hepatitis C Treatment PIER handout. | Complete the Hospital Security and Protective Services survey | Submit by: August 5, 2026 As part of the independent, third-party review of hospital safety and security announced by the Ministry of Health, all Saskatchewan Health Authority employees are invited to voluntarily participate in the Hospital Security and Protective Services survey.
