Making a difference for children and their families

For more than 30 years, the Children's Cottage Society has been making a difference in the early years of a child through programs that help children and families reach significant outcomes.

In 2018, because of the generous community of donors, volunteers, and supporters, 2,852 children in 1,566 families received the help they needed during a difficult time. We would like to thank you for your support.

To find out more about the impact of our programs on the lives of children and their families, see the 2018-2019 Annual Report.

Guess who closed the stock market?

The Children's Cottage Society was given an exciting opportunity on July 11 - to ring the closing bell of the Toronto Stock Market with TMX Group Calgary at their annual Stampede Breakfast.

TMX Group's national employee-led charitable giving program is focused this year on making a difference in children's health. The Children's Cottage Society is thrilled to have been chosen as TMX Group's Alberta charity partner.

Thank you, TMX Group Calgary for helping shine a light on the importance of preventative services for children and their families.

And a very special thanks to TMX Group Calgary for donating $15,000 to the Children's Cottage Society!

See how the Crisis Nursery Program changes lives

When parents need emergency child care and have nowhere else to turn, the Crisis Nursery provides 72 hours of loving care for children under age eight.

Not only does the Crisis Nursery help children and their families in the short term - but in the long term.

Families who receive Crisis Nursery services are offered a family coach who assists parents to set goals, learn about child development and parenting skills, and connect with community resources. This program is tailor made to fit each family’s needs and is provided in their own home.

In this way, children are buffered from toxic stress, parenting capacity is enhanced, and family resilience and relationships are strengthened.

See the 2018-2019 Annual Report to find out more about the impact of the Children's Cottage Society programs on children and their families.
