This February, the Alice-Quintal Library will offer you the International Travel Festival

To the delight of travel enthusiasts, the library invites you to participate in the first edition of the International Travel Festival, which will take place online, free of charge, from February 5th to 11th 2022.

The Alice-Quintal Library will offer free access to the festival to the first 100 people who register. You will have the opportunity to watch 4 films that were selected and made by travelers from France, Switzerland as well as Canada. Don’t delay and enjoy the festival!

Alice-Quintal Library

The library will remain closed but will maintain home delivery services to members aged 65 and over, access to the digital book collection and contactless loan service. Reopening on Tuesday February 8th, according to the regular schedule.

Special Activity at Dorwin Falls Park – Friday February 4th

Come as a family to the ‘’Skate and Hot Chocolate’’ 5@7 at Dorwin Falls Park, where you can enjoy the magnificent ice path under the pines. There will be hot chocolate, grilled cheese sandwiches and maple taffy on snow for children 12 and under. Warming fires, torches and music will add to the festive ambiance!

Equipment Rental
Delight in the joys of winter! There is equipment available for rental at the beach chalet: tubes for sliding, « snowskates » and snowshoes. Free of charge for Rawdon residents.

Dorwin Falls Park

Reminder | A sticker is now required to park (parking meter)

From September 1st to April 30th, Rawdon’s residents and property owners must obtain a sticker to park at Dorwin Falls Park. The sticker is free of charge and available at the Town Hall during opening hours. You will need to provide proof of residency.

Visitors will be charged $10 per vehicle, per day (according to the parking meter instructions).


Financial assistance intended for residents under the age of 18, for activities offered outside the Municipality of Rawdon

Considering the importance of encouraging a healthy lifestyle among children, and because the Municipality cannot offer or organize all types of sports activities, the Municipality of Rawdon has a financial assistance program.

Municipal Taxes

The 2022 tax bills will be mailed out on January 31st.

You can pay your tax bill in 6 equal instalments, if the amount is greater than $300. The due dates are March 1st, April 20th, June 1st, July 20th, September 1st and October 20th.

Financial Assistance Program For Feminine Hygiene Products

The Municipality of Rawdon is pleased to launch its financial assistance program aimed at promoting the purchase and use of reusable feminine hygiene products. This subsidy, which will benefit the women of Rawdon, aims to protect the environment and is an addition to the already existing washable diapers program.

Preventive Notice – Significant risk of water mains freezing

TO ALL USERS OF MUNICIPAL AQUEDUCT NETWORKS

As a result of the current weather conditions, the Environmental Health Division is seeing a greater number of private aqueduct pipes freezing.

We ask that you take the necessary precautions by ensuring safe minimum heating near your water inlet to prevent it from freezing.


Reminder | Overnight Parking Is Prohibited

Until April 15th, it is prohibited to park on the street, from 11 pm to 7 am the following morning. Please be advised that parking regulations will be strictly enforced. We thank you for your cooperation.

Council Meeting

The next council meeting will be held on Monday, February 14th at 7 pm.

In accordance with the recent announcements pertaining to government guidelines, the sessions will be held via videoconferencing and streamed on YouTube.

In order to maintain public question periods, citizens can send their queries to the municipal Town Clerk’s office by email to greffe@rawdon.ca, prior to the council meeting. The Deputy General Director and the Town Clerk will read the questions received to the council members during the question period.

During the pandemic: Re-opening of the Town Hall for the payment of municipal taxes and distribution of Dorwin Falls Park parking passes only. All municipal public services are maintained and we encourage you to contact us via telephone, email or online services. The Town Hall reception desks are however open. Please note that the number of visitors allowed is still limited and public health measures must be observed at all times. Anyone entering a municipal building must wear a face mask.
