Driveway Access Bulletin

The City's Development Engineering team has developed a new bulletin - Driveway Access Requirements bulletin.

The bulletin outlines the regulations for new or altered driveway access, sidewalk(s) and crossover(s) to the City streets, lanes and highways.

Check with the Building department to see if a separate Driveway permit is required.  If the works are part of a subdivision or development process a separate building permit may not be required.

See our bulletin for more information.

Building Permit Statistics for April 2023

The first part of 2023 has shown a slowdown in the construction.  Using Development Permit applications as a metric, we expect construction values and permit activity to return to previous year-over-year comparison.

Currently the building department has the following permits in the system:

  • 56 - Permits received/under review
  • 42 - Permits on hold waiting for revisions
  • 27 - Permits Issued and waiting pick up

See our issued permit statistics on our website at www.penticton.ca/permits/stats
