Dakota Koch is a fourth-year History student with a unique story and passion. Dakota is the co-founder of the BC Newcomer Camp, an organization offering free summer camps for newly immigrated refugee children with the goal of helping them overcome language and social barriers. Dakota discusses the camp, its connection to history, and offers tips on how others can help, in the video above. A Q&A with Dakota can be found below the video on YouTube.

Jessica Wang wrote a commentary for the Washington Post on New York City's history with rabies and how it provides a blueprint for eliminating deaths around the world.
