| Public Service Announcements and News Releases | Saskatchewan protecting patient access to personal health information with renewed MySaskHealthRecord contract The Government of Saskatchewan is reinforcing its commitment to patient-centered digital health by renewing its investment in MySaskHealthRecord, a secure online service that gives residents easy access to their personal health information. | Saskatchewan protecting progress made on breast cancer diagnostics wait times The Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) are continuing to take action to improve access to breast health services by extending an initiative that allows patients to receive diagnostic procedures at a medical facility in Calgary. | SHA CARES - Living our Values | Supporting families in life’s first precious moments | Supporting families through the first moments of parenthood is both a privilege and a responsibility — one that Jaclyn McDonald approaches with compassion, knowledge and calm reassurance. “Actively listening to what the patient wants and how care is provided for them” is at the heart of Jaclyn’s approach. Jaclyn has been recognized with the Nursing Excellence Award from the Boreal Healthcare Foundation for her outstanding work in maternal and newborn care at Victoria Hospital’s Obstetrics Unit in Prince Albert, where she serves as a lactation consultant. Known for her warm and supportive approach, Jaclyn helps new parents navigate the early days of caring for their newborns. Whether guiding families through breastfeeding, answering questions or offering reassurance, she brings patience and expertise to every interaction. Her work supports a team-based approach to care, ensuring families receive the guidance and support they need during one of life’s most important transitions. This recognition celebrates the meaningful difference Jaclyn continues to make for families in our community. | Recognition and Appreciation | April 7 is Green Shirt Day | April 7 is Green Shirt Day and is a day to honour the victims of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy and their families. It is also a day to continue the legacy of Logan Boulet, a Humboldt Broncos player whose example has inspired thousands of Canadians to register as organ and tissue donors and to talk to their families about their wishes. On April 7, in honour of his legacy, we invite you to take a moment to recognize and show appreciation to Logan, his family, and other organ and tissue donors who have made the selfless decision to give the gift of life and sight to others by wearing green. Talk with family and friends about organ donation, and register your decision regarding donation at GiveLifeSask.ca | Celebrating one year of the Regina Vascular Access team April 1 marks the one-year anniversary of the Regina Vascular Access Team - the first electrocardiogram (ECG) guided nurse Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion program in Saskatchewan. The program provides service at both Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital for inpatient and outpatients alike. With ECG-guided technology, the team provides bedside insertion for the most vulnerable and unstable Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. In its inaugural year, the team successfully inserted more than 880 PICC lines, surpassing expectations and making a remarkable impact by significantly reducing patient wait times. 54 per cent of patients are now receiving their PICC lines within 24 hours of receiving the request from a care provider. This achievement was made possible through strong collaborations with Regina’s medical imaging team, Medical Imaging Provincial Standards and Operations, and the support of Dr. Nicolette Sinclair. Together, they have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to innovation, patient care, and nursing excellence. Congratulations to the Regina Vascular Access Team on reaching this important milestone and for setting a new standard of excellence in vascular access care. | Helium supply update Air Liquide, our supplier of medical grade helium has informed the SHA supply chain that due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and QatarEnergy’s complete suspension of its Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Helium production, the availability of industrial, commercial and medical-grade helium has been affected. Aire Liquide will continue to provide medical grade helium to hospitals and clinics at historical consumption rates only. Allocations may change as the situation evolves. SHA supply chain will be in contact with medical grade helium suppliers as this evolves. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) grade helium is managed by MRI manufacturers through different suppliers than medical grade, and SHA supply chain is not involved with its supply. | Webex will be removed on April 20 - use Microsoft Teams for collaboration and meetings As part of eHealth’s ongoing efforts to streamline communications and improve collaboration across the organization, Cisco Webex will be fully decommissioned on April 20.
