Winter parking restrictions are now in effect

Parking on select streets around Squamish is currently restricted to one side of the street only through March 1, 2024, to ensure that snow plows and emergency vehicles have access during winter conditions.

District of Squamish Bylaw Enforcement Officers will focus on education and provide warnings to anyone parking in a restricted area. However, vehicles parking on the No Parking side of the street may be ticketed and towed at any time to ensure community safety. The fine for impeding snow removal is $250.

'TIS THE SEASON TO SLEIGH HOLIDAY WASTE

Are you feeling the holiday spirit? Make this holiday season one that is not only joyful but also sustainable. Holidays often come with large amounts of avoidable waste which can be easily reduced by considering some zero-waste ideas. Instead of using wrapping paper, which will inevitably end up as garbage, consider using brown paper bags which can be composted, or add a dish towel to the present and use it as packaging. Old newspapers also make for nice wrapping. Think circular and consider purchasing pre-owned items as presents. Or gift experiences, homemade crafts, and food, over new items.

Sign up for our Zero Waste Holiday Season – Upcycled Gift Box Workshop here!
