Final Tax Bills Have Been Mailed

Final property tax bills have been sent to all property owners in the Town of The Blue Mountains. The final bill includes total taxes and special charges (if applicable) for the year, minus the interim amount. The Final Tax Bill due dates for 2026 are August 20, 2026 and October 20, 2026.

The Town offers convenient ways to manage your account from anywhere, including e-billing and pre-authorized payment plans.

Outfall Installation Resuming

Following a weather event on the weekend of July 18-19 that damaged a portion of the turbidity control system, the Town has received approval on an amended construction plan for the new outfall pipe for the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant.

As you explore The Blue Mountains this summer, you may notice something that needs attention. Whether it's a pothole, overflowing park garbage bin, sidewalk concern or tree maintenance issue, you can help keep the Town looking and functioning at its best by submitting an Online Service Request.

Requests are sent directly to the appropriate Town department, making it easy to report concerns related to roads, parks, trails, water and wastewater, and more. Your report helps staff respond efficiently and keep our community safe, clean and well maintained.

Be Water Safe This Summer in The Blue Mountains!

The Blue Mountains Fire Department and the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit have tips to keep you safe this summer.

The Health Unit regularly tests water at high-use beaches, including Northwinds Beach and Little River Beach here in The Blue Mountains. Test results can be delayed, but these tips will help you make an informed decision about water quality before swimming:

Do not swim if the beach is posted with a warning sign.
Do not swim if there has been a heavy rainfall in the last 24 to 48 hours. Bacteria levels may be higher than usual from stormwater runoff.
Do not swim if the water is so cloudy that you can not see your feet at adult waist depth. Cloudy water may indicate higher bacteria levels.
Do not swim if there are any other problems with the beach such as a large number of waterfowl, dead fish, algae/scum or dangerous debris.

The Blue Mountains Fire Department has responded to multiple rescue calls for boaters this summer who got swept offshore by wind and currents. Every time you head to the water, remember:

Have appropriate safety equipment, including PFD's or life jackets
Respect your limitations and abilities
Check conditions before you go
Let someone know where you're going and when you should be back
If possible, take a cell phone in a waterproof, floating case
