BRENNAN PARK AQUATIC CENTRE

Bronze Medallion 13yrs+

The Bronze Medallion is the second step towards the lifeguarding certification.
It provides an understanding of lifesaving principles through four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness.

Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for the Bronze Cross.

Youth Pool Takeover

You heard it right—this is a Pool Takeover exclusively for youth! If you’re aged 13-18, gather your friends and dive into the fun. We’re taking over the pool on the last Saturday of every month.

NEW! Capoeira Classes for Kids & Families
Unleash the power of movement, joy, and connection with our Capoeira Aché Brasil programs for kids and parents at Brennan Park Recreation Centre!

Preschool (ages 3-5)
Join your little one in a playful, shared journey through the vibrant philosophy of Capoeira. Explore movement, build connections, and strengthen family bonds in the dance of life. Parents are included in the registration fee—because learning together is what it’s all about!

School Age (ages 5-13)
Capoeira Aché Brasil brings out the best in kids, teaching strength, coordination, flexibility, and agility—all while building confidence, health, and well-being. Rooted in the spirit of “Aché” (everything positive in the universe), students will embrace the philosophy, movements, and techniques of this incredible martial art.

Female Goalie Clinic
Women's Hockey 101


Have you ever wanted to give hockey a try but have been too intimidated to lace up your skates? These programs are designed to get you game-ready in a fun and safe environment while having the opportunity to connect with other local women. You must have your own hockey equipment.

Tot Riders | 1-5yrs

Escape the rain, cold, and roads! Visit the gym, where Recreation Services provides ride-on cars and trikes for your little one. Participants are also welcome to bring a run bike from home, as long as it has clean wheels and the ride has a properly fitted bike helmet. This program is a great alternative when the "Little Sneakers" sessions are full!
NOTE: Please note this is an unsupervised drop in program that requires parent/guardian participation.

Steps is back!

Join Heather for a unique step class that combines traditional step choreography with bodyweight strength training. This music-driven class incorporates a variety of step heights to deliver intense cardio, muscular conditioning, and overall endurance. Drop-ins are welcome, space permitting.

Swing Dance

You ain't got a thing if you ain't got that swing! Beginners and beyond are welcome. No partner needed. Partners will be rotated during classes.

SENIORS' CORNER

Flower Bouquet Workshop - Valentine flower workshop (55+)

Professional florist, Bernadette will lead students in creating their own fresh seasonal flower bouquet to take home. Students must supply their own vase. Registration closes 1 week prior to workshop to allow for the right amount of fresh materials to be pre-ordered. No drop-ins.

DISCOVER THE WESTWINDS

Did you know that Recreation Services offers a variety of programs using the ground floor program spaces at the Westwinds Seniors Living building? These programs are focused on adults and seniors health and wellness, visual and performing arts, social opportunities, events, and education?
Open Monday to Friday, Westwinds provides a range of activities to choose from, including Neuro-fit, Re-Fit, Healthy Hearts, and Seniors Open Gym. Online registration is required, or you can pre-pay at The 55 Activity Centre. Learn more at squamish.ca/rec

Reduced Mobility
/Folk Dance

A one-hour class of low-mobility dancing, featuring circle dances from around the world and several seated dances. No partner is needed.

Seniors Open Gym

Join us for 90 minutes of non-instructional time in the Fitness Room at Westwind’s Senior Living. Open to those 55 and older, the facility offers a variety of equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, and free-weights, with staff supervision included. This is a great option for those seeking access to fitness equipment without committing to a formal gym membership.

Neuro-Fit

Neuro-Fit is a circuit-based exercise program designed to optimize the health of your neurological system. It is ideal for individuals affected by stroke, acquired brain injury, MS, Parkinson's, or spinal cord injury. Pre-approval from a program coordinator is required.
