A bird's eye view of construction at the site of The Ottawa Hospital's new campus.

Construction update:

Aerial view of The Ottawa Hospital's new campus

Progress continues on the site of the future home of one of Canada’s most modern, technologically advanced and accessible hospitals.

This aerial video, filmed in March 2024, focuses on the area where the parking garage to support the new hospital will be built. It shows three new tower cranes on the site, and work taking place on stairwells, the first above-ground parts of the building.

As the largest health care provider in eastern Ontario, TOH is already a vital hub in the regional health care system. Now we’re building, expanding, and integrating our infrastructure, programs, and services to create a better hospital and health care system for the future of our community.

Our new hospital will give every resident across our region – and from as far away as Nunavut – access to a new state-of-the-art trauma centre, a cutting-edge neurological research centre and specialty programs.

During its construction period, the new campus development will create or sustain more than 4000 full-time equivalent jobs in Ottawa. After construction, more than 6000 people will work at the new campus – a portion of the more than 15,000 people who work and practice medicine every day at TOH campuses.
