With an emphasis on building connections to the people, places, and resources that will support and shape your university experience, our free flagship orientation program is strongly recommended for all students who are new to our campus.

What to expect at Create

Next Friday: Bring the Heat to our soccer home openers! ⚽️  

Need Friday night plans on the long weekend? We’ve got you covered. Join your Heat fam and show your school spirit at Nonis Field for our home openers on August 30. The women’s team will face off against our biggest rivals (the TRU Wolfpack) and we need YOUR support. Kick-off is at 4 pm!  

Oh, and tickets are FREE for UBCO students. Spread the word.

The Intramural Lottery opens September 2 at midnight 🏐 

Interested in playing intramural sports, but don't know how to get started? With tons of sports and leagues to choose from, there's something to everyone's liking. Due to the high demand, there is a lottery system in place to participate in intramurals. The lottery opens soon and closes September 9 at 11 pm.

Capitalize on Free Fitness Week! 🏋️ 

From September 9 to 15, stop by the Gym to see what it has to offer. Visit the Hangar Fitness Centre and create your own workout, or join a Group Fitness class featuring yoga, spin, strength circuits and more.

Applications are now open for the StEAR Enhancement Fund

You’re invited to submit project ideas that support racial, disability and gender and 2SLGTBQIA+ equity. If your idea is chosen, you could access up to $10,000 to support your project.

The first call for applications closes September 16.

Did you know that nature is good for your health? Our Wellbeing team is encouraging you to get outside and capitalize on all Kelowna offers this time of year.  
 
Save this list for September if you’re not already in town: 

  • Take a hike! Head to Knox Mountain for breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake and the city or check out AllTrails for more local options. 

  • Want to explore Okanagan Lake? Rent a paddleboard or kayak or keep it simple and enjoy a relaxing swim. Check out some of our top swimming spots.
