PARKING MANAGEMENT SURVEY

The District of Squamish is seeking input on parking management as we develop a draft plan for Downtown and tourism-based parking. Your insights, through a community survey (available in multiple languages), will help shape a plan that meets the needs of our entire community.

We invite you to visit our Let's Talk page to learn more about how we got to this point and explore ideas for managing parking in our community. Your input will play a key role in guiding next steps.

MAYOR'S DROP IN

Please join Mayor Armand Hurford and Councillor Andersen for a casual Drop-in Chat with the Mayor as we look ahead to 2025.

When: Wednesday, January 15, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Municipal Hall, 37955 Second Avenue (Council Chambers).

RSVP is encouraged to communications@squamish.ca and all are welcome!

TOTE AND ORGANICS COLLECTION

The following deadlines for modifying your Tote and Organics Collection services are approaching:

  • January 31, 2025 (NEW) : Add a second organics collection container for 2025.
  • October 31, 2025: Change the size of your garbage tote for 2026.
  • Upsize your recycling tote from Medium to Large (no additional cost for the larger tote, but a $50 exchange fee applies).

A few key details to note:

  • A $50 change fee applies to each adjustment, including adding or removing an extra organics curbside container or changing the size of your garbage or recycling tote.
  • A separate form must be submitted for each dwelling unit receiving service. For properties with multiple suites, the owner must submit a form for each unit.
  • Change requests cannot be made over the phone. Only property owners or landlords can submit these requests.
  • Your 2025 utilities bill will reflect any changes to your solid waste fees based on your new tote sizes.

Ready to make changes?

Submit your request form by January 31, 2025, to take advantage of these options. Plan ahead and update your solid waste services today.
