Dr. Andrea Bundon on Gender Bias in the Beijing Paralympic Games

A gaping gender gap in Winter Paralympic Games continues with Canada's team reflecting that imbalance. KIN professor Dr. Andrea Bundon speaks on the continuing gender disparity at the Paralympic Games:

"Introducing mixed-gender events ... doesn't necessarily increase the number of women participating. ... They create balance in the number of medals available to men and women, but they don't create any more spots on the team... [so] it doesn't create [an] incentive for the nations to develop more pathways for women."
