Message from the President

Guillemets

Dear members, dear partners,

The second part of our Global Aerospace Supply Chain Summit is fast approaching and I am very excited that we will be able to finally meet face-to-face at the Palais des congrès de Montréal!

We’ll be offering you this key business get-together on October 26th – for the first time since 2019. Discover here the many speakers confirmed so far; several others will be announced shortly.

To start the day, you will hear from a panel of women leaders who are working hard to develop a more sustainable ecosystem for Québec. We will continue with a panel on how to include startups at the heart of tomorrow’s supply chain. Our experts will also look at the mechanisms in place to support the growth of the supply chain.

France will be the country of honour during this new edition, and we will be fortunate to count on the presence, among others, of Thierry Gendre, Senior Vice President – Chief Operating Officer of Stelia Aerospace. He will give an exclusive interview to Aviation Week. We will also be pleased to welcome Catherine Guillemart- Dias, General Manager Canada, Air France-KLM, Clémentine Gallet, CEO of Coriolis Group, as well as Marcella Cortellazzi, Head of Communications of Airbus Canada as master of ceremony.

In just a few weeks, we will be bringing you a conference featuring numerous solutions for building a more sustainable supply chain. This will also be a unique opportunity to reconnect with your business partners, in person.

Don’t miss this major international industry event. Register today!

SUZANNE M. BENOÎT, President of Aéro Montréal

Take advantage of the members-only robo-advice!

Take advantage of the members-only robo-advice!

To support you during the recovery and enable you to find programs that meet your needs, in March 2021 Aéro Montréal launched the Robo-Advisor, a tool to help you identify financing programs. The Robo-Advisor is tailored to your needs: through a personalized approach, it targets the programs that are accessible to your company and still available.

This unique tool is offered free of charge for a period of one year to members of Aéro Montréal.

In addition, to learn more about the programs that will be identified for your company, Aéro Montréal is offering you the opportunity to make an appointment, free of charge, with a financing program expert. Once your initial research is completed, a member of the Aéro Montréal team will also be identified to follow up on your efforts and suggest resources adapted to your needs. Don’t wait any longer!

Air France unveils its first Airbus A220-300

Air France unveils its first Airbus A220-300

On 29 September 2021, Air France took delivery of its first Airbus A220-300, the company’s latest jewel in the fleet on its short and medium-haul network. Since introducing the Airbus A350 on its long-haul network, the company is continuing its fleet renewal and by 2025 will have integrated the 60 A220-300s ordered in 2019 to gradually replace its Airbus A318s and A319s as well as several Airbus A320s. This order – the largest from a European customer – includes an additional mix of 30 options and 30 purchase rights.

“This new aircraft with an unparalleled energy performance represents a major asset for Air France. To date, fleet renewal is the main source of reducing CO2 emissions, and this is why we are continuing to invest in latest-generation aircraft. We are also activating all the levers at our disposal such as sustainable fuels or eco-piloting, as part of our contribution to promoting a carbon-neutral air transport industry and positioning ourselves as a leading player of a more sustainable aviation” stated Benjamin Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM.
