Fraser Highway One-Way Project Update Newsletter

The Fraser Highway One-Way Project will improve the area for our businesses, residents, and visitors.

It includes replacing aging underground infrastructure and revitalizing the Fraser One-Way with more greenery, new gathering spaces, and better pedestrian amenities.

This newsletter aims to keep businesses and residents informed of planned, ongoing and completed work.

Notice of Planned Water Service Interruption

Water service to select businesses on the north side of Fraser Highway, near Salt Lane, will be temporarily unavailable from Saturday, March 1, at 9:00 pm to Sunday, March 2, at 9:00 am. This temporary water interruption is required to upgrade the City's water supply infrastructure along Fraser Highway.

Phase 1 Work Progress

Ongoing:

Installation of City-owned underground water pipes and BC Hydro infrastructure and conduits.

Upcoming:

Installation of new water connections to properties.
Removal of roadway curbs.
Installation of new curbs and sidewalks.

ONGOING WORKS:

Installation of City-owned water pipes

These pipes provide water to properties in the City.

Installation of BC Hydro infrastructure

BC Hydro infrastructure provides electricity to properties within the City.

Helpful information to know:

• Limited off-street parking is available between Salt Lane and 206 Street.

• Construction will generally occur during the daytime based on the City's Noise Control Bylaw. Some work may occur on weekends or at night; however, noisy construction activities will not be permitted during night work.

• Vibrations are to be expected during construction.

Businesses are open

During construction, access to businesses along the Fraser Highway One-Way will be maintained. You can enter these businesses through their front doors.

Traffic control signage and personnel will ensure safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles during construction.

Free parking is available!

• Free parking will be available throughout the Fraser Highway One-Way in a phased approach.

• Phase 1 - Limited off-street parking available between January to April 2025

• Phase 2 - Limited off-street parking available between May to August 2025

• 37 free parking stalls at Langley City Hall
