Co-Curricular Making: Honouring Indigenous Connections
to Land, Culture and the Relational Self | Fall 2024

Way' SSHRC Project Educators, Community Partners, Research Partners, and Research Assistants,

The SSHRC PG Facilitation Team has some funding available for educators to support classrooms in advancing reconciliation. The funds can be used to support educators (and their students) to deepen and enlarge their understandings of Syilx culture with teachings that connect land, culture and understandings of self in the world. Participating SSHRC Educators (individuals or teams) can request up to $2,000 to fill small resource gaps ($500 individual projects and up to $2,000 for team projects). Funding is available from September 15, 2024 to February 1, 2025, or until available funds are exhausted. Please visit Small Grant Funding for more information. If you have questions about the Small Grant Funding please email Danielle.Lamb@ubc.ca

We also invite you to also consider sharing your project with us in a reflective group conversation and/or individual interview. In the latter stages of the SSHRC grant, our attention is turned toward insights gained, lessons (un)learned, concrete curricular examples, and found significances for educators, students, school and community sites, parents, and the greater community. Your thinking and experiences are needed and are deeply valued. If interested in sharing with us and able to take the time to do so, please contact Margaret Macintyre Latta to make arrangements for a 30-60 min follow-up conversation Margaret.Macintyre.Latta@ubc.ca

If you have any questions or feedback we would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
SSHRC Facilitation Team
