The Opportunity for Reconnection is as Real as Ever

They laughed, they gathered in nooks across “campus” for private conversations, they danced and cooked together and stayed up too late reminiscing. Meg Pickard (YR 17/1992, United Kingdom) tells us the inspirational story of how a determined and creative group of Years 16 to 19 alumni conceived of and delivered a virtual reunion for the ages on multiple platforms featuring dozens of events over 10 days. A Liberating Legacy Choice

Like many Pearson alumni, Mike Zyrd’s (Year 7/1982, Canada-NS) time on the Pearson campus would never have been possible without a full scholarship.

Now a Film Studies professor at York University in Toronto, Mike weaves his UWC perspective into his research and classes. We invited Mike to share how his experience at the College impacted his life, and what inspired him to include Pearson in his estate plans. Read more

UWC for Afghan Youth

The dramatic events in Afghanistan have shaken all of us - and urge us to do more. Like with countless other humanitarian crises, this brings enormous repercussions on the possibility for Afghan youth—especially girls—to access education. To help, we are raising funds for up to 20 additional Afghan students to study at UWC. But to make this happen we need your support.

Health Centre Website Now Live

Health and Wellness is especially important at a boarding school and doubly so as we carry on through the pandemic. Over the summer, our Campus Health Centre team, with help from a student volunteer, brought together the pieces to create their very own informative mini-site. Essential Agreements

Last year we worked together as a community, together with guidance and input from Victoria’s Dr. Lisa Gunderson, and informed by the UWC Movement, we codified a series of Essential Agreements. The start of the 2021-22 school year is a great time to revisite those.

Corey will lead us through his timely talk about Pathways to a less-ghastly future.
