UWC for Afghan Youth

The dramatic events in Afghanistan have shaken all of us - and urge us to do more. Like with countless other humanitarian crises, this brings enormous repercussions on the possibility for Afghan youth—especially girls—to access education. To help, we are raising funds for up to 20 additional Afghan students to study at UWC. But to make this happen we need your support.

Health and Wellness is especially important at a boarding school and doubly so as we carry on through the pandemic. Over the summer, our Campus Health Centre team, with help from a student volunteer, brought together the pieces to create their very own informative mini-site. Essential Agreements

Last year we worked together as a community, together with guidance and input from Victoria’s Dr. Lisa Gunderson, and informed by the UWC Movement, we codified a series of Essential Agreements. The start of the 2021-22 school year is a great time to revisite those.

We are looking forward to welcoming -- remotely of course -- alumnus Corey Bradshaw (Year 14/1989, Australia), Matthew Flinders Professor of Global Ecology at the Flinders University. Corey will lead us through his timely talk about Pathways to a less-ghastly future.
