In support of the theme for National Child & Youth Mental Health Week (May 5–11), this week's educator resources, Strength in Stories, offer practical strategies, reflective tools, and inclusive frameworks to cultivate affirming, culturally-responsive classrooms that support the mental health and well-being of all students—especially those who continue to face oppression

Educator Resources:

1. School Mental Health Ontario’s Identity-Affirming School Mental Health: A Frame for Reflection and Action supports student mental health by helping educators create inclusive, culturally-responsive learning environments where all students—especially those who continue to face oppression—feel seen, valued, and supported in their identities.

2. Curated by York University, Lesson Planning: Anti-Racism & Black Inclusion (K-12) provides structured, reflective activities and resources to support anti-racist education and cultivate inclusive, affirming classroom environments.

3. Produced by GLSEN, How to Support Transgender Students is a video that highlights the importance of creating affirming, inclusive, and safe learning environments for trans students by elevating their voices and advocating for policies and practices that support their well-being and educational success.
