Virtual physician program extended to Turtleford emergency department:

Turtleford joins 28 other rural communities where the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA’s) virtual physician program is supporting local health-care teams in maintaining access to emergency department services.

Request for proposals issued for new long-term care homes in Watson and Estevan:

The Government of Saskatchewan has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking proponents to design, build, maintain and operate new long-term care homes in Watson and Estevan.

Resource Spotlight: Straight to the point of care

British Medical Journal Best Practice is an evidence-based clinical decision support tool structured around the patient consultation. It provides health care providers with step-by-step guidance informed by best evidence and expert opinion.

A standout feature is the Comorbidities Manager, which allows users to create tailored treatment plans by selecting from a range of common comorbidities.

The tool includes a wide range of content, including 37 specialties, 1,000+ monographs, 6,700+ searchable diagnostic and treatment guidelines, and 3,000+ images, and is integrated with the global drug information resource Martindale.

British Medical Journal Best Practice is available via desktop and as a mobile app. Visit the Library online for more resources and services, or contact the SHA Clinical Library for help.

MyConnection update: Artificial Intelligence - enhanced search and homepage refresh

MyConnection is launching a new feature, Artficial Intelligence - enhanced search, and a refresh of the home page- to make it more user-friendly. 

This new search feature delivers faster, more concise answers without the need to scroll through multiple knowledge documents. With the MyConnection Assistant, you can ask questions in your own words and receive support through a conversational experience. The assistant may even guide you through completing a case. All answers are sourced through new and existing knowledge documents. 

The new home page design and search feature will make it easier  to find everything you need in MyConnection. These new features will be available January 29, 2026.

Information Session: Accreditation on-site visit - Fall 2025 results and next steps

SHA and affiliate staff, physicians, and patient family partners who are interested in hearing about the results of the on-site visit and next steps of the Fall 2025 Accreditation on-site visits for Intregrated Northern Health and Mental Health and Addictions Provincial Strategy are welcome to join the information session on January 26, 2026 at 2 p.m

RxFood - diet and nutrition app for SHA employees

Canada Life is providing free access to the diet and nutrition app, RxFood. This app provides diet and nutrition guidance that is personalized to your own health goals, biometrics, and lifestyle. Want to make sure you're eating more fresh fruit and vegetables? Looking for fibre-rich meal suggestions? Trying to cut down on carbs? RxFood can help.

In addition to helping with diet and nutrition, RxFood can also provide access to consultations with registered dieticians for those dealing with chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, or heart disease.

Ethics Exchange: Intimacy and sexuality in residential care environments

Join Dr. Eleanor Stewart, PhD, and Scott Stewart, MSW, RSW, Ethics and Discernment Centre, Covenant Health, Alberta who will present on the topic of "Intimacy and sexuality in residential care environments" in the Ethics Exchange on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Eleanor and Scott will provide information to assist staff in supporting intimacy and healthy sexual expression, addressing sexual consent capacity, and responding to inappropriate sexual behaviours within the residential care home environment.
