NEW Outlook Coming!

In preparation for implementing Microsoft 365 university-wide, UBC will be migrating email services from on-premise to the cloud platform Microsoft Exchange Online. This will improve email security, reliablity, and integration with other collaboration tools. Update to Office 2021 

UBC is migrating to Microsoft Exchange Online and integrating with other M365 tools and applications over the course of the next 6 months.

To ensure you're ready, please confirm your computer has Office 2021. Learn how to check your version of Office, and how to install the latest version if needed HERE.

CEO Fraud Emails - Watch Out

The University is experiencing a surge in phishing emails targeting UBC users, including "spear phishing" attempts that impersonate colleagues or executives. How to order printer paper

Need paper for your UBCO staff printer? Good news - UBCO IT pays for it! Each department is in charge of creating a Requisition in Workday and ordering the paper, but use the IT Worktag and all charges go back to UBCO IT. Full details on how to order paper in Workday can be found HERE

  • Workday Student - Communications Tool Upgrades
    October 26, 2024 |07:00-11:00 PT | 

    • On Saturday, October 26 - 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Workday Student Communications Tool will be unavailable to enable improvements to the tool.These performance enhancements to the Student Communications Tool will speed up overall delivery time of bulk emails and increase the number of students who can be emailed in bulk.Note: If required to complete these updates, the tool may be unavailable for second period of time on Saturday evening. Specific time is TBD.

    • UBC IT Collaboration Technology and Change & Training Teams are collaborating to offer a number of training workshops for Microsoft 365 apps, open to all UBC faculty and staff. Come join us to learn more about using M365 Teams and OneDrive for collaboration and productivity.
      These one-hour online workshops provide an overview of Teams functionality, file sharing and collaborative document best practices with demos and open Q&A to our M365 experts. REGISTER

    UBC Extended Learning just launched many new AI and cybersecurity offerings that ladder into UBC Senate-approved micro-certificate and certificate programs. Tuition waivers and employee group PD funds can be used toward course fees.
