We are thrilled to share two new opportunities to join the PQI team as physician leads for our Education and Alum streams. In these roles, you’ll partner closely with our stream consultants in a dyad model to co-lead the development and delivery of PQI training and alumni engagement initiatives—aligned with our Steering Committee’s annual work plans.

Highlighting excellence: Check out Dr. Jennifer Kask's (Cohort 7) recent articled in the BCMJ publication "Getting SAVy about sexually transmitted infection testing" which outlines the ongoing work to improve access to testing for sexually transmitted infections throughout northern Vancouver Island. 

Dr. Sienna Bourdon (Cohort 8) was featured in a Special Service Committee's (SSC) news article highlighting her PQI project work on reducing emergency visits at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

Shoutout to Cohort 6 alum, Dr. Harold Hunt for his PQI project growth and sustainment! His 2021/22 project aimed to reduce time from referral to complete assessment for women with urgent gynecology problems at his Victoria clinic. His team's measurements show changes and positive patient feedback. Keep up the amazing work! 

Congratulations to Dr. Victor Yuen (Cohort 6) on his new position of Medical lead, Microbiology, Island Wide & Acute South Island, and division Head, Medical Microbiology.

PQI Physician-Led QI Alum Projects are team-based QI initiatives led by three or more PQI graduates, designed to drive meaningful, system-level change. With support from the Alum Stream, these projects apply QI skills to real-world challenges, improving care and advancing health system priorities.
