It’s Kidney Health Month!

Every March, we run our “Could you be the 1 in 10?” and #KidneyHealthChallenge campaigns to raise awareness about kidney health, kidney disease prevention, and early diagnosis of kidney disease. Both campaigns are linked to our KidneyHealthCheck.ca site, which features a free, online kidney health self-assessment.

Promoting kidney health is so important considering:

  • 1 in 10 British Columbians are living with kidney disease and many don’t know it.
  • You can lose up to 80% of kidney function before you notice any symptoms.

We’re also pleased to amplify initiatives from The Kidney Foundation, the Can-SOLVE CKD Network and the PKD Foundation of Canada throughout the month of March.

Take Part in the #KidneyHealthChallenge!

Our short video, 31 Tips for Good Kidney Health, shares practical ways to look after your kidneys—like staying active, managing stress, and making healthier food and drink choices. The video is available in English, Chinese (中文), and Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ), and is intended for people who haven’t been diagnosed with kidney disease.

Each day of the month we’ll share one tip on our Facebook and LinkedIn channels.

Help us spread the word by liking and sharing our #kidneyhealthchallenge posts and by taking part in the challenge yourself! Don't forget to like and share our video on YouTube; it helps the algorithm share it with more people!

Could you be the 1 in 10 with kidney disease?

Connected to our KidneyHealthCheck.ca site, this campaign:

  • raises awareness about kidney disease risk factors; and
  • encourages individuals to complete our online kidney health assessment — available in English, Chinese (中文), and Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ)—to find out if they may be at risk for kidney disease and whether they should consult a doctor for further testing.

This March, you can help more people access our online kidney assessment by liking and sharing our posts on social media, and adding this wording to your email signature: “Take 2 minutes to check your kidney health. Complete the free online assessment at KidneyHealthCheck.ca — available in English, 中文, and ਪੰਜਾਬੀ — and find out if you may be at risk."
