In 2023 we introduced new benefits to make our plan more inclusive, there were changes for specific employee groups, and a host of changes to our benefit partners and providers.

2024 vacation now available in Workday

Eligible staff in salaried positions can now access their 2024 vacation balances in Workday, and vacation requests can now be entered for 2024. This vacation time cannot be used to book extra vacations in 2023.

Vacation balances for the following year are updated in Workday in the first week of October of the preceding year. The number of vacation days you can take depends on your UBC employee group and how many years you have worked at UBC.

Event highlight: Building healthy sleep habits (December 6)

Sleep is a critical part of our wellbeing. Building healthy sleep habits helps fight illness, decrease the risk of diseases, and reduces stress. When sleep improves, so does our mood, concentration, motivation, memory, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Take part in this workshop to learn how to start sleep-healthy habits from the moment you wake up, and much more.
