This weekend’s Globe and Mail investigation exposes our opposition: separatists seeking integration with the U.S.

Here are the two biggest red flags from the report:

1. Separatist leaders went to Washington and offered up Alberta’s fresh water, oil royalties, and land to get American backing.
2. They used imported U.S. political software that caused a massive privacy breach, exposing the personal data of nearly 3 million Albertans.

And despite the stolen data and the backdoor D.C. meetings coming to light, Premier Danielle Smith is ignoring the fallout and pushing ahead with the October 19 secession referendum anyway. She is in fact driving it, while (conveniently for her) scapegoating immigrants along the way.
