New Public Art Gallery

Visit the New Public Art Gallery In Killaloe
Ottawa Valley Community Arts in partnership with Killaloe Hagarty Richards Township and the Killaloe & District Public Library invite you to visit the inaugural exhibition of the Art Gallery of the Ottawa Valley Killaloe.Titled "A Community That Dances." The exhibition celebrates Killaloe’s spirit as
experienced by the artists.  The Gallery is open to all, and can be visited when the KHR Municipal Office is open and on Saturdays from 11 to 4 via the library entrance.The Art Gallery Of The Ottawa Valley is a system of interconnected galleries and programming spaces embedded into already-existing public infrastructure across the Ottawa Valley region. The full name in Anishinaabemowin, English and French is: Awase Mazinibíhiganan Wábandjigádeg Pasadinág Kitchisipping, Art Gallery of the Ottawa Valley, Galerie d'art de la Vallée de l’Outaouais.  Artworks are available for purchase, with sales supporting the artist and the future of the Art Gallery of the Ottawa Valley. The Countdown Public Art Project

ReDefine Arts in partnership with the Community Resource Centre - Killaloe, and
Ottawa Valley Community Arts, invites the community to join the next phase of the
Countdown Public Art Project! A summer series of art workshops, outdoor concerts, and
a mobile campaign focused on creative collective-action to end gender-based violence
and foster safer communities.
Programming will launch with a concert and pebble mosaic workshop on June 13 in
Killaloe and will culminate in a mobile campaign and finale concerts on September 19
and 20 in Killaloe and Eganville. A full list of upcoming programs is listed below. Please
note: All workshops are free, all materials are provided, and registration is required.

Culture Connect

From June 8th - 21st, Culture Connect kits are available at the library - kits are supplied by Local Immigration Partnership Lanark & Renfrew:

Welcome Rock Painting: Stop by the Library to pick up your take-and-make kit and create a welcoming design to share with the community.

Spill the Tea: Pick up a tea kit and explore global tea traditions.

Kits are available for pick-up, while supplies last.

TD Summer Reading Club

Tuesday afternoons from 2 - 3 pm. Beginning July 7 through August 25th, for children ages 4 to 10 years old. Join us for fun, reading and crafts - Drop-in, registration not required.

 

Giant Summer Book and DVD Sale

Summer blow-out book and DVD sale beginning July 21 in the library. Drop in often - new books and DVD's will be added regularly.

 

Sport and Recreation Lending Library

The library lends out sport and recreation equipment to library members. Summer equipment includes kayaks, paddleboards, baseball equipment, yard games and more. 

Each item can be borrowed for one week per membership card, first come first served.

Visit the library website for a full list of available items and equipment. Anyone with a library membership can borrow these items. Memberships are free for residents or ratepayers of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards; Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan; North Algona Wilberforce; and Bonnechere Valley.
